Longaberger Basket Liners and Fabrics
2/5/2009
Longaberger basket liners are wonderful accessories that will surely add personality and color to any basket! They come in many different fabrics and styles; not all fabrics are available for all baskets. The available fabrics range from solid colors to colorful plaids to bold florals. Some seasonal fabrics such as Traditional Holly or Fall Gingham were available for seasonal baskets and some regular line baskets for a short period of time. Fabric collections such as the Woven Traditions collection, the Fruit Medley collection, or the Botanical Fields collection offer a variety of different coordinating fabrics. Some of the liner styles that have been offered over the years include Stand-Up (Cord, Ruffle, or Pleated Ruffle) and Over-the-Edge (Fitted, Ruffle, Pleated Ruffle, Binding, Button, Ties, Bow Ties, or Velcro). Authentic Longaberger liners will always have an exclusive product label sewn into the seam of the liner. Additional basket fabric accessories offered over the years include garters (small, medium, and large) and handle grippers. Different coordinating fabric accessories have also been available for the home at various times. These accessories include table runners, table cloths, napkins, placemats, chair pads, valances, pillows, shower curtains, kitchen mitts, and lamp shades.
Longaberger Pottery
01/25/2007
Longaberger pottery was introduced in 1990. The first pieces of pottery made were Grandma Bonnie's Pie Plate, the Large Mixing Bowl, and the Large Milk Pitcher, and they were only available in Classic Blue. These original pieces were made by Friendship Pottery in Roseville, Ohio and each piece was dated and initialed. The embossment on pieces made in Roseville is molded into the bottom of each piece and the body is a creamy white color.
The next generation of Longaberger pottery was made by Sterling Pottery in East Liverpool, Ohio. These pieces feature a silk-screened decal that was fired directly on the bottom. The decal is the color of the pottery and features a woven L. The body of this pottery is a brighter white than the body of the original pieces made in Roseville. The dinnerware line was introduced in June of 1992 along with the Heritage Green and Traditional Red patterns.
Solid color pottery was introduced in March of 2001. It was designed to compliment the popular Woven Traditions pieces. Various other pottery designs, such as Traditional Holly, All-American, Fruit Medley, and American Craft Originals, have been available over the years.
Cleaning Your Longaberger Basket Protectors
12/13/2006
Protectors do a great job of protecting Longaberger baskets. They also can provide storage and organizational solutions! However, while performing these important jobs they can get very dirty. Most Longaberger protectors are not dishwasher safe, but they are easy to clean with a bottle of Formula 409 and a paper towel. Sticky residue and pen marks can be quickly taken care of with a bottle of Goo Gone.
Removing Scuff Marks From Your Longaberger Baskets
11/14/2006
For those of you who actually use your Longaberger baskets, you know that scuff marks sometimes appear on the baskets for one reason or another. When this happens, just use a slightly damp Mr. Clean Magic Eraser and the scuff marks will come right off!

How to Set a Beautiful Holiday Table
10/26/2006
Mix and match seasonal pottery with solid color pieces to liven up your holiday table. Retired pieces in the Traditional Holly or American Holly pattern look great with Ivory, Ivy, Sage, or Paprika as accent pieces. The current line Nature's Garland pieces coordinate well with Ivory, Paprika, or Sage pieces. Use coordinating holiday placemats and napkins to complete the look.
